Getting back into skating again and would like something a little more interesting/stylish than my old CCM 755's with Sure-Grip H-405 frames. I skate a couple of nights a week in skating rinks with wood floors. I've pretty much given up on finding skates with rockerable frames. I use front rocker to give me a good combination of maneuverability and stability at speed. I like the look of the Seba FR1's and everything I've read here or elsewhere leads me to believe they would fit my wide feet and I could pick up some 76mm wheels to get the front rocker I prefer. Yeah, I know the Sebas are made for slalom/freestyle skating and not for some old guy to relive his teen years in the 70s bobbing and weaving to the music.

That said, a couple of questions:

#1: Any plans to get the FR1's in the orange/white color scheme? The black/white ones might as well be hockey skates looks-wise and I'm not really fond of the blue/white ones.

#2: Are the "replaceable abrasive pads" removeable leaving just the plastic shell without any leftover hardware?

By the way, I really like your web site and your prices and policies seem very fair. Thank you for your time.

Seba now offers color kits for the FR1 rather than offering in various colors. So you can do the changes on your own.

We have in stock (see above). Yellow, purple, red and green. No orange :(

You can remove the abrasion pads and have just the shell yes. Just be some added holes for ventillation where screws are.

Thank you... We are updating site to be even BETTER. Should be launched either in 2 weeks, or we will be waiting until January to not risk messing up the holiday business.

Thanks again.

Yeah, I know about the color kit but since I won't be using the colored abrasive pad I'd prefer the colored shell. It looks like I'll have to hook up with someone in Europe to get the orange ones - I can find them via the sebaskates.com site but not via the seba-usa.com site. Here's a link to the product page:

Not a big deal since my current skates have plenty of life left in them and I recently found a set of new wheels for them still in the plastic wrap. Just the thing to give me that "new skates" feeling.

Thanks for your reply.
