hey i just bought the hyperlite wheel and bearing combo and only after 6 days of skating they're beginning to melt. the clear part of th wheels is seperating from the grey core and then dirt is getting inside heats up and that heat turns the clear part of the wheel to dust and then the wheel breaks aparts but not before melting the hard plastice of my K2 skates. I would like an explaination of why this is happening and the contact information of the makers of my wheels because this is ridiculous, i haven't even gotten a week's use out of them yet. sorry to sound like an ass but i wasted $25 on these wheels.
thanks for the help

We sell quite a few of the Hyperlite combo packs and haven't had any problem with them.
Granted that at $24 for a 8 wheels and 16 bearings, you aren't moving into the upper echelon of wheels, but for that price... they are very good. Most wheels cost about $24 for a 4pk of wheels and that would not include bearings. So you can see the price point.
Hyper is a reputable company and they do make great wheels. If making an "cheaper" product, it would be priced as such as we may be seeing here. You literally are paying $1 for each wheel and $1 for each bearing.
No doubt they should be lasting longer than what you mentioned. I'm therefore curious as to the surface, heat and what exactly happened. I'd be more than happy to get you another set out at cost if I can confirm your purchase date and that you only had them for a week. My name is Stan and I can be reached at 800-366-3070.
