Hello,

I am presently thinking of changing something on my skates but not sure what is the best choice for me.
I have been skating for 10 years (with Salomon skates). The last 7 years, I have been skating with Salomon Pilot 9 Pro, 84mm microbearing 83A, frame: 275 mm tension force DR160. I use my skates as a transportation for everyday life six months a year. I skate on very bad asphalt (montreal Canada!), in the city, between the cars and I like to skate fast, but I also like to react rapidly. (woman, 120 lbs, 5'7")
I like the skates I have, but my wheels and bearings are really old. What should I do? Buy new skates ? change only my wheels and bearings (keep 84mm) ? or change my frame (is it possible ?) to be fitting 90 mm wheels on my Salomon skates ? Is 110 mm would be too big for the use I made and the maneuverability I need ?
Should I buy Bones or ILQ9 bearings ? (there is a lot of dust in the streets and I honnestly take care of my wheels and bearings only twice a year)

Thank you for your advices, I was happy to find this forum,

I personally would go Bones over the SG9.

You can put other frames on there at 90mm with same spacing sure. I believe those are 165mm spacing but can't be sure.

100 and 110mm would be way too big I'm thinking. Fast, yes. But not as quick to start and stop and maneuver.

The RB10 skates are at 90mm and a good fast but maneuverable setup. In men's sizes. The Twister 80W in women's is an 80mm setup but also a fun setup with high control.

It's tough to say go new although replacing wheels and bearings can get up there. If the boots are comfortable and still have a lot of life in 'em, then sure. Might make sense to just replace your wheels and bearing and keep rockn' for a while.

RB has 84mm 8pks of wheels with and without bearings that are very cost efffective. Wheels are 84A which is hard enough to be durable, but also feel the bumps a bit. So getting one you give up the other.

Hope that helps.
