I have a 2001 pair of Catalysts recently made the mistake of trying to switch them from micro to standard bearings and Wheels. Now, if the axle screws are tightened, the wheels don't rotate freely. Is there some sort of axle kit that will fix this, or am I out a set of new wheels and bearings (and what should I look at to replace them) The whole notion of micro-bearings is looking more and more foolish.

Thanks

Peter

The Catalyst was a bit funky with the 698 micro bearings. Going to a standard shouldn't cause any problems using existing axles. I read you got new bearings and wheels, did you also change the bearing spacers?

No I did not use new spacers, perhaps my problem. Although I'm not sure I understand why this would make a difference. What seems to be happening is that when the axle is fully tightened it locks the wheel. Do you think this might be solved with new spacers? Also, I have managed to loose one axle from a skate on them when they were not completely tightened. Is it possible to purchase replacements?

Thanks

Normally you would have to change spacers for all your hardware (axles) to work right. The above floating spacers are what typically are used to do the switch. The spacers are $1 each and you'll need 8. There shouldn't be any problem with the wheels spinning doing the change.

We aslo carry the axles for the Catalyst, but they are only sold in a set. $8 for those as well. If wanting/needing these two things, give me a call at 800-366-3070 and refresh my memory who you are and I'll set you up with free shipping and an Inline Warehouse shirt to help ease the pain a little. Hopefully that will help.

Thanks! Stan
