I bought a pair of Marathon Carbon skates in 2007. They are still in fairly good shape, except that the strap holding the metal clasp for the power strap on one skate is torn about 1/2 way through, and I expect it to tear the rest of the way very soon. Is there any way to repair a power strap on these skates?

If I opt instead to purchase new, I am looking at the RX110 (but also considering the K2 Radical Pro). When I purchased the Marathon Carbon's, I followed the recommendation to go 1/2 size below my shoe size, and after a short but slightly painful 4/5 skate break in period, they fit close but comfortable. Should I follow the same 1/2 size down approach with the RX110 or the Radical Pro?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The powerstrap is part of the boot, so a leather or boot shop would be the only way to repair those I imagine. Not a replaceable aftermarket part.

Sizing is a preference, so we'll need to look to you for the size that would work best. I found them to fit a little big and went down a 1/2 size, others are true to size. Most are true I would say. Try on before use to see if how you like and we'll even pay for return shipping should you not like the fit.

Thanks!
