I have an old pair of hard boot RB ABT skates from the 90's and am now looking at upgrading. I have younger kids and want something to skate with them while they ride on the bike paths, but also want a pair of skates that I can get a workout with as cross-training for running.

Anybody got a suggestion as to whether I am better off with the 84mm wheels on the Spark Pro, or the 90mm wheels on the Moto 90 for that kind of skating? Thanks,

I'm a fan of the Moto 90's and the price is down to make them very appealing. The bigger wheels will get you a little more speed and ease of retaining speed, but nothing that is scary. Larger wheels can handle some bumps and cracks better as well.

The 84mm Spark Pro is a nice model as well and the 84mm will give a little more control being smaller in wheels size. A little less speed, and a little more work.

So both are good choices and there's no real wrong answer, but just opinion. If skating in tight spots and are doing a lot of starting and stopping, perhaps the Spark Pro. If having a nice trail to continue stride, the Moto 90.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I have to decide what I want more.....smaller wheels for maneuverability and casually skating with my wife and kids, or the Moto 90 for a better workout experience when skating on my own.

That's pretty much it. Again, it's not to say you'll have a huge problem skating slowly are maneuvering with the kids/wife. A little more attention/effort may be required, but still easily done with a little ability which you more than have.

Going the other way, you can't fake a 84mm to act like a 90mm.

The K2 Moto 84 comes with 84mm, but can take 90mm if you want. I don' t have the Spark Pro max wheel size listed so I'll have to check it out. I'll add to the site once I confirm. It may be able to take a 90mm as well.

Thanks and good luck!

That was one of my consideration to have the Spark Pro upgraded to 90 but unfortunately max is 84 : (.

84mm Max. You saved me 10 calories in having to go back to the warehouse.

Thank you,

Id go with the Racemachine & 105mm wheels,

Actually the Rß 10.0 uses a 104mm wheel, a 105mm wheel wont fit as they use a 4x100 frame on that model. Ashame as that model should use the 105mm wheel which is now out to buy.

Great versatile skates and one of our best sellers. Good wheel size, fun, and maneuverable.

The price is wayyyyyyy below what it should be. Closeouts can be a good thing though :)
