Alright Inline Warehouse, let's see just how awesome you are!

I was fastening my skate's strap down (Roces S101 '07) and the nylon-affixed bracket ripped away from the frame. Now I'm left with a long middle strap I can't tighten against...if that makes any sense.

I don't know what to do. The blades are still in great shape and I even bought new wheels (and bearings) for them just a short while ago.

Thank you for the challenge and it is an interesting one at that.

As they are 2007 skates nearly 2 years old, it is safe to assume that they are no longer under manufacturers warranty.

I'm thinking that is the power strap right? The 45 degree strap fastening over the top of the foot? A replacement strap likely would need to be stitched in there even if obtainable.

The good news, is that you got a couple years out of your skates. The bad news, is that it might be tough to get that piece fixed. I might be able to locate a power strap, but you then would likely need to get it stitched in there.

I've got an inquiry out to my Roces Rep to see if he has any ideas. I agree the skates look pretty clean still for being 2007. It almost looks like a dog got ahold of the strap. My dog likes to do that to the back of my hats :(

I'll let you know once he gets back with me, but I can't promise anything. I know you got those back in July of 07. I'll do my best in working with Roces and see if such a part is available.

Thanks for the post!

It's the middle strap. Not by the toes or up by the ankle. So, power strap you say? haha.

Exactly, I don't want to get all new stuff yet, but the way that the strap was held in the first place makes it hard to do anything about it.

Here's the other skate showing how it should look

45 degree strap or power strap is what they call that, yes. Roces is looking into it so maybe we'll get lucky. They got back with me once already asking about size and if left or right. So I sent that back to them and we'll see.

Thx

I have gotten Roces to agree to replace the boots with a S201 boot if you like. It would involve you sending in your S101 skates to Roces and they change over the frames and send them back.

How's that score IW on your test :)

If interested, email me at Stan@InlineWarehouse.com and I can send you their info. You would need to pay to ship them in, but still a good deal.

Thanks
IW
