I am a new adult male skater. I have taken 4 lessons using rental K2 Moto skates size 10. I purchased a K2 Exo 80 size 10. My first lesson using the new skates I feel like my foot is sliding side to side within the skate. When I attempt to us the outside of the skate my foot first slides to the outside and then the skate moves.

I tried tightening the laces, but it didn't solve the problem. Do I need smaller skates? I'm using the same socks as I used for my other lessons. Will the skate conform to my foot better with more us? Any ideas?

Thanks,
Bruce

In reading your email, it does sound like it possible that the skates may be too big. Especially if sliding around that much.

Try inserting a footbed like a SuperFeet or something similar. This will raise your foot, provide more comfort, and shorten the skate up a bit to help keep you foot secure.

The Exo 80 will naturally fit a little different thant the Moto, but the sizing/mold should be the same.

I purchased some insoles and pulled the laces much tighter and WOW things worked much better! I did not have any slipping or sliding of my feet and things worked so much better.

Thanks for suggesting insoles.
