Hi IW,

When are you going to have or expect the K2 Commission line of skates?

Thank you in advance.

They are actually on order and expected around the middle of October.

Is there a specific one you are interested in? I can set up an order for you if you like so it ships the day they arrive.

Thanks,
Stan @ IW

Hi Stan,

That's the problem. I don't know which one yet.
I would like some information on them before I make the purchase.

Have you seen them? Is there any difference(besides styling) with their current line of skates? When are you going to put them on the website?

Most importantly, if you have tried them on, could you let me know your opinions on them?

Thanks again.

I have seen them, but they won't be on the site until received which is mid to late october.

All have 80mm wheels. The Capo is a mix of an aggressive and fitness skate with a UFS frame that can be swapped easily to an aggressive frame if wanting to grind and so forth.

Otherwise The Don, Capo and Dirty Rat are 80mm/ILQ7, the Fat Joe 80mm/ILQ5.

The Don is white with fatigue straps, Il CApo is mainly white, and the rest are black.

I don't know when K2 will update their site. Hope that helps.

Stan

Any word on the Don or the il Capo? Pictures? I found a small image of the il Capo here: http://www.inlinewarehouse.com/styleproducts.html?styleref=29869 but no large image. I haven't seen an image of the Don anywhere. Thanks.

Here's a link to a little bigger picture. Late November looks like the release date.

The Don has has the same components, but the boot is Camo and white with a bit more soul plate.

Thanks. The il Capo looks like a variation of the Frontman which is a bit disappointing because the cuff on the Frontman was too stiff for my taste. At least it comes with better wheels than the Twister II's though. I may try these out when they're released.

Would you happen the know the frame length of the Dirty Rat?

Thanks again.

No measurement provided on frames, but I pulled a size 10 skate and measure 10.5" from axle to axle (first and last).

Thanks for the update. That translates to 266.7mm. Way too long for K2 to be calling the Dirty Rat fit for freestyle. In fact, I noticed in the product description on their website (http://www.k2skates.com/product/dirty_rat) that they do not mention anything about this skate being suitable for freestylers. Which is good, because with the long frame it is not. You may want to consider removing that reference in IW's own description of the Dirty Rat.

On another note, I also noticed the Don was basically a re-styled Soul 7. Good starter freestyle skate, but unfortunately not sufficiently supportive for intermediate/advanced slalom.

I have a never release pair of Il Capo's in a size 9 if interested. They didn't do an Il Capo in 2011. This one is black and looks cool. If it were my size I would keep it.

It is a 247mm frame by the way.

Thanks!
