Has anyone done this in a home oven? Does it work well or should it be done by a shop?

I'm not saying you should do it, but I did it with my brand new Rollerblade Roadrunner speed skates. My home oven worked just fine, but I had to heat the oven up then shut it off & let it cool down to just above the recommended temp before placing my skates in the oven because the minimum temp for the oven is 200F, recommended temp for the Roadrunner's is 150F for 12 minutes. It definitely did help the heal area to fit better & be able to get the skates on/off. However, looks like I'll still have to take them to a cobbler to see if they can stretch the width at the ball of the foot cause I have very wide feet.

If you have any doubts &/or cannot afford to replace the skates if you melt them;) then I suggest having a pro do it. Otherwise, make sure you place the boot in the middle of the oven, don't want to get it too close to a heating element or burner which may remain hotter than the inner air temp, & follow the directions very closely.
