I have a 2 year-old pair of K2 Moto Fitness 84/80 (from IW) and recently put new wheels and bearings (both from IW) on the skates. I noticed that there is a lot of rubbing taking place when I tighten the wheels to the point where they are not wobbly and loose. I noticed the same thing with my older wheels which is why I thought some new hardware would help. I would like the wheels to spin freely but are way too loose when they do. How can I fix this problem? The bearings are packed in as tight as they can go and do not appear to protrude from the wheels themselves. Thanks!!

Sounds as if you perhaps did not install the bearing spacers which reside between the bearings. Please check for that piece. Again, you will put a bearing in, the spacer in, then the other bearing. Not doing so can collapse/pinch the wheel when tightening.

If doing so with your old wheels too, it seems like that would be the cause. As I assume they did not do so prior.

Thanks,
Stan
