Hello,

I've pretty much set my mind on these models : Crossfire 06 (2008) and Crossfire 2 90 (2007) (though I was considering the twister II but I read it's much less comfortable, actually painfull).
I don't really see the differences between the 2 Crossfire models.

- One description says the Crossfire 06 has memory foam, nothing is said about the Crossfire II 90. Is that really something new on the 2008 model ?

- IW site says the Crossfire II 90 has a 285 mm frame , Rollerblade sites says 275. Is it 285 for sizes 11+ and 275 under 11 ?
- No mention of the frame length for the Crossfire 06 on any site; Rollerblade.com still lists the 2008 models only as "preview".
Do you know the frame lenght for the Crossfire 06 (size 10 or 10.5)

Also, I remember reading that with some rollers, people take out the boot and put it in the oven for some time, then they put it on so that it molds better to their feet. Can this be done with any of these models ?

I had the possibility to try a Crossfire TFS (2007)for 10 minutes, size 10 (I m 10 on sport shoes) but on my left feet, the tip and the top of the big toe would touch the shoe. So I'm thinking ordering a 10.5 for the Crossfire 06 (or Crossf. II90). (I am assuming that the Crossfire TFS and the 2 other models are using the same mold for the boot shape).

Is there a big difference between the 10 and 10.5 sizes (is the lastest wider or just a bit longer) ? I m afraid my right foot will be floating and that both my ankles will move in the boot when I lift the feet. (that's what happened with the K2 I could try).

For the background : I haven't skated for 5 years. I have a low-intermediate level and I plan to do trail / city usage (3 to 4 hour rides).
I don't have my old pair of skates anymore ( a pair of Nike fitness skates from around 1998)

Thank you !

Wow! Lots of stuff. Hopefully I answer all.

The models are very similar other than differences to the boot. They are simply different model years and the 6.0 being the 2008, has any of the latest engineering/changes they can add/improve to the skate.

The basics are the same and the frame lengths should be the same as well. Once done, I'll go grab a couple sizes and include that on the description online.

The liner. Specialized liners have dual density and specific lasts for men/women and give good comfort and support. They DO NOT have memory foam however that remembers and conforms to the shape of your foot.

I personally do not recommend baking your skates like hockey skates. I recommend simply skating them and letting the heat of your foot mold them while skating.

Difference between a 10 & 10.5, is a 1/2 size :) Like wearing a shoe a 1/2 size larger and I would recommend ordering the 10.5 if you don't like your toes touching on that foot. Sizing is a preference and all our different. The snugger the fit, the better response, but you want to be comfortable. Only you know what you prefer in that sense.

Both choices will perform tons better than your Nike skates. They never really put forth a lot of attention to inline skating when they did it. The II 90 is on closeout and price reduced greatly from when it was out new. So a good pickup. Not a lot of differences other than the liner and $35. 90mm is a great wheel size for speed, easy to maintain speed, good maneuverability, smooth as it can handle cracks and stuff well.

I'll get the frame info up as soon as I can and thank you for the post.

ive had my 2008 CF 6.0 for about a month now. At first, the tall wheels made me feel too tall (6'6" without skates)... now, I would agree-- the wheels made it Much easier to deal with not-so-perfect terrain.

You wont need to bake these... the lace system has won me over, being able to tighten at anytime.

Following-up on your comments to Chock's questions.
Do any of the new Crossfire Models have memory foam liners? (As the descriptions in IW website for 6.0 and 8.0 model indicate they do)

Cheers

Yes... Those that list memory foam, do indeed have it.

Thanks,
