I've had a pair of Salomon skates for about six or seven years that I really liked. They were called Screamers I think, black and built tough for urban use yet not a "trick" skate. Well something is wrong with the frame now and I need a replacement pair. When I got online I reallized that Salomon doesn't sell skates anymore. Is there something similar available today? Before these skates I used to use Rollerblade lightning TRS, but I liked the boot on the Salomon much better.

About my skating (in case it helps in a recommendation): I've been skating for fourteen or fifteen years. I used to trick skate, grinding, jumping, and half pipes, but haven't done that for nine years since my knee surgeries. I want something for a cardio workout, knee strengthening, and getting around town and on campus.

Thanks for your thoughts, Jeff

I would check out the Rollerblade Twister skates. I think that may be more along the lines of what you are looking for.

Very versatile skate and more of a solid feel than like a performance end skate.

Thank you for your reply. I have had the chance to try on a pair of twisters, and I didn't like the feel of them. I know there's not much choice now, but would the k2 moto fitness or 90s be manuverable enough to skate on side walks in town? Also can replacement frames be purchased for the Salomon Screamer? I'm not so much concerned with it being a really tough skate as much as I want it to be comfortable (due to the knee surgeries its nice to have some shock absorption) and easy enough to guide around tight corners and people. Thank you,

Jeff

I've had 4 knee surgeries (same knee) and skate the K2 Moto Extreme and love them. They have the hi-lo 100mm in back, 90mm in front.

The Moto at 90/84 would also be a good choice. Very comfortable skates and allow for great maneuverability.

Sorry it took so long to get back with you. We were having some problems with the board.

Thank you.
