I'm considering upgrading my rollerblades which are now almost 15 years old.:???:
Checking the offerings available, I noticed that in 2007, Rollerblade had 3 models with 4D frame.
In their 2008 range, there appear to be no longer any such frames on offer.:(

If you have bought a 4D model before, I love to hear your views about these..

- How often do you change the length?
- What kind of terrain do you normal stake?
- does the additional weight of the skate vs. a non-4D frame outweigh the benefits of having this 'extra' function?
- Would you consider buying another 4D skate, in the future?

Cheers

Sorry no one has responded. I thought I would throw in my two cents.

If one that simply puts skates on and rides, then the 4D may not be for you. If you are one that enjoys tinkering and changing things up like length and doing different types of skating, the 4D's would be great.

They are a little heavier, but they are versatile. They serve well with those that like skating different styles and take the time to adjust the frames. How many people actually do this, is arguable. I know several that have gotten the 4D and enjoy them, but never touch the frame. So they got a good skate, but getting the 4D didn't really make sense as they really had no intention of fooling with them.

So if you get them, and actually play around with the frames, then great. If you think you might fall into the majority that will get them and not bother to lengthen/shorten the frames, save yourself from the added the weight and go with something else.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the post.

Dear Stan @ IW

Thanks for your feedback to my post.

I think you did a good job to provide an objective and unbiased view of the 4D skates. I appreciate it's not easy, since your comments could influence whether a user decides to follow-up to buy or not buy the 4D skates from IW. However, by being objective then users will respect IW more and are likely to consider other skate models from IW :)

Thanks
