80mm to 84mm wheel

I have a pair of K2 Mod LT's. The max wheel size, which it came with and I'm still currently running, is 80mm. Would I notice a big increase in speed in going to a 84mm wheel? I skate for fitness putting in 10-20 miles at a time all on paved paths (fairly smooth asphalt to slightly rough concrete).

The folks at K2 indicate this would be possible to move up to 84mm wheels using their 4-Eighty Four Frame which would then support the 84mm wheel at a 165 frame mount. However, I don't see any frames listed on the IW site (even though google searches make reference to fact that you (used to) carry them....) Can you suggest other 165mm frames or any that IW would carry/could get?

My only concern with the current setup is that there are only a few 80mm wheels available with micro hubs on the site and they are all closeouts? And few micro bearings..... Are these going by the wayside? And if the switch would make it faster.....all the better.

Would it benefit to make the switch now from 688- 608's??? I thought the stock 688's it came with were OK-fast and don't want to lose that though.... But this would be the time to switch as I (have already put in order into IW for 80mm and 688's--too late??? ) am buying new wheels and bearings.

We don't sell a lot of aftermarket frames but do sell RB's and K2's when they have them available. Last attempt with K2, they were out and still are currently.

There will be micro bearings and wheels for a long long time. I wouldn't worry about that. Many great wheels available in micro and if on closeout, not necessarily a bad thing as you can get them cheaply. Switching not really necessary.

Definitely would be more speed at 84mm. Next pair of skates I would jump to 84mm minimum, but even a 90mm. With skates being fairly cheap, you can get new skates for the same price as wheels and bearings in some cases. Something to think about.
