Hello,
I am an intermediate skater that will skate about two times a week. I like a smooth fast ride but my #1 concern is COMFORT. My last two pairs of skates caused nasty rub burns on the inside of my heel. I currently have a pair of Salomon's that I paid $300 three years ago and they are useless to me because every year, I put em on, burn a hole in my heel and put them away for the summer. I really enjoy blading, I just don't like pain :-0 Here are the four skates that I think would be appropriate for me...
K2 EXO Alu
K2 EXO
K2 Moto
K2 Moto 90

I am leaning towards the Moto Models only because of the higher rated parts and look. Although, I am slightly concerned about the moto's and the high low wheel set up because I have never had that before. So, my question is....Which skate do most people find the most comfortable? Also, does the high low set up on the moto prevent you from leaning back and taking it easy sometimes? Do they force you to skate in a constant aggressive position? Thank you in advance for any help.

Frankie

Didn't see it. Sorry....

I would go with the Moto 90 skates. Just a personal preference. The Moto Extreme is what I'm skating right now and I love them. They have the Hi Lo setup @ 100 & 90mm. I've skated hockey more than fitness, so I was used to the hi lo. Naturally not at this size though. I like the way it keeps my momentum going forward. So the Moto or the Moto 90 would be great choices at your level.

Thanks for the post.

I wouldn't give up on the old skates so fast. I've had various problems with various skates and (mostly) figured out ways to fix 'em. I always wear double socks to avoid blisters and scrapes on my feet. Adjusting the tongue of the skate seems to be critical. On my old Salomons (TR-8) it was important to pull the tongue up carefully or the base of it would rub my toes. Now with my new Salomons (forget the model name) I have to push the top of the tongue down to get the right padding at my ankle.

And if you still can't get your Salomons to work right, just send them to me. :-)
