Hello! I'm glad I found this site and hope you may be able to help make a decision for me. I'm a novice skater who has taken lessons many years ago and skated on Nike Bauer hockey skates. Now I'm looking to get back into skating and would like some fitness skates to use for working out on some lengthy park trails over concrete and asphalt surfaces. I've done extensive research looking for reviews on skates but haven't found anything in detail. I'm mainly interested in a comfortable skate that rolls well -- the old hockey skates took enormous effort to move, probably due to the smaller, softer wheels. I'm looking at the following skates:
1.) Roces S201 80mm ABEC-5
2.) K2 EXO ALU 80mm 80A ABEC-5
3.) K2 Soul 7 80mm 82A ABEC-5
4.) Roller Derby Helios A1 80mm ABEC-7
5.) Roller Derby Helios Pro 90 90mm 82A ABEC-9
I read that the K2 EXO ALU is narrow (I wear 11.5 - 12 shoes) and the K2 Soul 7 is uncomfortable due to the area where the soft boot meets the outer casing rubbing on your heel. I also read that the Roces S201 is narrow and haven't found any reviews on the Roller Derby brand skates. But I'm guessing that the Roller Derby brand may lack in quality and comfort due to their low prices (all are priced below $100 in every store). In your personal experience and knowledge of beginner to intermediate level skates, which one of the five would best fit my needs? I would greatly appreciate any information you may have on these skates.
