I purchased the Salomon 8ti last year, I was new to skating and wanted to eventually try an inline marathon. I am a runner and skate once or twice a week to give my knees a rest. I did the Northshore Inline a little under 2 hours and really had a good time. I have ran the course several times and I think the skating spoiled me from doing that again, ha ha. I actually think I could have done better but I was worried that I would run out of gas so I just kept within myself. Skating on wide roads, the crowd, or something sure made it seem almost too easy, I felt super great and shattered my goal based on training runs.

I plan on being a little more committed to skating next year and was thinking about upgrading my skates. Somebody at the race said I should get 5 wheels because I am so tall but I don't know if that means anything. I am 6 foot 4 inches and way about 200 pounds. I had 82mm wheels on for the marathon if that matters. Any suggestions would be great.

I don't want to go super high end but upgrade enough to make it worth the expense.

Check out the K2 Radical 90 skates. Great fun. Equipped with 90mm wheels and you'll notice a difference right away. They'll be a bit faster than what you got, great for longer distances, but don't give up control.

Check those out and see what you think. They are @ $224.
